Swamy demands ban on VHP
The Janata Party president, Dr. Subramanian Swamy, today demanded a ban on the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the arrest of its leaders under the National Security Act.
Talking to reporters here, he said the VHP leaders could be booked under the new Act to prevent terrorism and disruptive activities for their attempt to enter the prohibited site in Ayodhya and build a temple in the disputed site.
Dr. Swamy criticised the Prime Minister, Mr. A. B. Vajpayee, for his remarks ridiculing Pakistan for waging a war against Taliban after having first supported it.
